Patient Information

Pre-Operative Instructions

Patient Preparation for Dental Treatment Appointments
1.  Confirm your appointment.
2.  Pick up any prescriptions dispensed prior to dental treatment and use as directed – such as antibiotics, pain medications, etc.
3.  If you are taking any prescription or non-prescription medications – Some medications have to be stopped before certain procedures, others need to be taken as directed, and others need to be taken only before certain dental procedures.  Most of prescribed and non-presribed medications, with some exceptions, can be taken as usual before dental treatment.  Instructions regarding medications will have been reviewed with you during your initial examination.
4.  Make arrangements with work or school.  Most appointments are made days or weeks in advance, which gives time to give employers and schools sufficient notice in preparation.  Some procedures require some down-time afterwards, but after most dental procedures, most of our patients return to work as normal.
5.  Bring any inhalers, nitroglycerin, Epi-pens and medications that are usually taken as needed to the appointment.

Post-Operative Instructions

After treatment care instructions vary from procedure to procedure.
Regardless, it is very important that post-operative instructions be followed closely for procedure success and for your comfort.
Below are some instructions on how to take care of your surgical sites for extractions and implants.
